Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator for our well-established client in Reading.

Responsibilities:
  • Operating Machines and the quality of the parts produced in line with company standards
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed
  • To run machines to achieve cycle times as recorded on the route cards
  • Assist Setter/Team Leader in improving changeover times, machine running efficiencies and tooling setups
  • Operate punch presses
  • Keeping work stations clean and tidy
  • Ensure health and safety is followed
  • Assist in maintenance on machines as and when required
  • Transportation of goods within the factory
  • Assisting with stock checks and general housekeeping within the unit
  • To take part in any continual improvement programmes
Competencies/Personal attributes:
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Numerate and literate
  • Able to use measuring equipment (Micrometres/Verniers)
  • Accuracy/attention detail
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a team
  • Cost conscious
  • Flexibility and ability to multi task
  • Open to change/new challenges
Desirables:
  • Experience of manufacturing practices
  • Counter balance forklift license
  • First Aid trained
  • Manufacturing, engineering or mechanical background
  • PC skills
  • Sheet metal or fabrication experience
Monday to Friday (Overtime available)
6am – 2pm & 2pm – 10pm (Rotating shifts)
£12 per hour + Production bonus
